John Entzminger John married the former Nancy May Burg from Clinton, NY in 1961. They have two children, David (1963) and Rebecca (1966), and three grandchildren. John received Christ as his Savior and Lord in 1957 while at the University of South Carolina. He served as an elder at Calvary Gospel Church in Utica, NY for 17 years and was president of the Utica FGBMFI chapter in the 70’s. They moved to Virginia in 1983 and joined Christian Assembly Church in Vienna, VA. Nancy was the church secretary from 1986-96 and John has served as an elder since 1985. John is also active in the ministry of Reasons To Believe, an international, interdenominational ministry of scientists and apologists established to communicate the uniquely factual basis for belief in the Bible as the wholly true Word of God and for personal faith in Jesus Christ. One of John’s favorite Bible verses is John 1:3-4: “Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.” John served for 38 years as a scientist with the Defense Department and is currently running his own consulting business in Northern Virginia. He was a senior executive in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in Washington, DC and the Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, NY. He initiated the development of airborne ground surveillance radar, which led directly to the operational E-8C Joint STARS system, which has been used successfully in all conflicts since 1990. He also initiated and managed development of the revolutionary high altitude RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned robotic aircraft that is now in production with the U.S. Air Force. His last assignment was as Deputy for Technology for the Defense Airborne Reconnaissance Office guiding technology developments in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. John has an MS in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and an Associate Fellow in the American Institute Of Aeronautics And Astronautics. He is listed in American Men and Women of Science and Who's Who in America. |
